Lovely and Well Appointed Villa

Casa Angular view from the Grounds

This was our first time to rent a home in a vacation destination rather than stay at a resort. We were a little nervous, but it turned out to be a fantastic experience.

The owner was incredibly accomodating to our travel dates and gave us fantastic recommendations on beaches, restaurants, and travel to Vieques. The property manager was equally helpful and did a great job of getting us settled in. The casa itself is really lovely, built in the Vieques style of all cement, and very contemporary.
As fans of architecture, we marveled at a type of home quite uncommon to see in the US. The casa is incredibly well maintained and clean, and does not lack for anything. Anything you could possibly need is there for your use, which was a really pleasant surprise. The kitchen is awesome and has pretty much every knick knack you could want to whip up a gourmet meal if you’re so inclined on vacation. The outdoor showers were my personal favorite, particularly the one by the pool. Views of the ocean are stunning, but beware of showering at night, as you might spot a frighteningly large spider (welcome to the tropics!). The deck/pool area is awesome, love the toys and loungers. We spent a ridiculous amount of time just lounging and reading by the pool because it was so pleasant. This home is conveniently located on the island and once you know where it is, easy to find and navigate to/from. There’s a bumpy road up to the gate, but not a problem in a jeep, as most rentals seemed to be. Look out for the herd of cattle, which we found to be hilarious and have lots of personality. Only bummers were that the pool light was burnt out while we were there, which made night dips a little scary. There also seemed to be always one or two persistent mosquitoes in the house … despite our best efforts to kill the one or two, one or two new ones would suddenly appear. Luckily, we had tons of bug spray, so it wasn’t bad, just annoying when intermittent buzzing wakes you up at night. Also, note that this home is completely open to the air (with screens) so temperature is amazingly regulated given the architecture of the house. It was only midly humid for us at night, but for some who live for their AC, it might be challenging.

Stunning, secluded, and beautifully outfitted house!

Casa Angular with beautiful clouds

My wife and I have been to Vieques many times, but until now have not found a house that we would want to rent twice. Casa Angular is stunning, and really is as shown in the photos on this website.

It is remote, secluded, private, yet only a ten minute drive from Esperanza, on of the two town centers on the island.
The house is very well-appointed with high quality furnishings, appliances, and kitchen equipment. The house itself is well laid out architecturally, but it is the attractiveness of the furnishings that made it so comfortable. The owners have put a lot of care into their decorating choices.
The integrated pool is stunning and will have you debating whether to bother exploring beaches or to just stay at the house and enjoy your own private space. We also found Colleen, Casa Angular’s property manager, very pleasant and responsive as is the house’s owner. They both did all they could to make our stay relaxing and problem-free. If you haven’t guessed already, we really enjoyed our stay and are already plotting our return next winter. The house is best for one or two couples, or for a family of four.

There is usually bit of apprehension before we walk in the door: will the place live up to our expectations, will there be any hidden disappointments etc.
As soon as we entered Casa Angular any apprehension we may have had completely disappeared. Not only did the villa meet our high expectations, it completely exceeded them. The villa is in a modern style with clean open spaces without clutter. The floors and some other details are made of concrete so the interior has a cool, calm feel throughout. There are two bedrooms separated by the living room and dining space, with bathrooms off of each bedroom and outdoor showers off of each of the bathrooms. The showers are enclosed for complete privacy, but there are no roofs over them so you get a gorgeous view of the stars at night. The fully equipped kitchen had all the modern conveniences: dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and a superior cook-top and oven. There is also a large laundry room off the kitchen. The couch in the living room is large and comfortable. The kids loved the TV and video selection. The beds are comfortable with high quality linens and pillows, and there are plenty of great, plush towels. A full wall of doors opens onto a patio space with comfortable lounge chairs, dining table and chairs, a BBQ gas grill, double sinks and plenty of counter space for preparing outdoor meals. There is a lovely pool that is a little smaller than some but was perfect for us. There were large plush pool towels available and a very fun comfy pool lounger perfect for relaxing in the pool. The villa is surrounded by lush vegetation with spectacular long views of the jungle and sea. We spent most nights on the patio listening to the sounds of the frogs and watching the stars. The surrounding area was perfect for hiking and exploring. The hills were challenging so we got in some very good exercise. It is evident in every detail of this well appointed, beautiful villa that the owners really care about the house and their guests. Casa Angular was the perfect place for our family to experience Vieques and we can’t wait to return.

Great, great house and place

The house was wonderful, perfect for our family of four with two active boys. It would be great for two couples as well.

It’s a very comfortable place, airy rooms, full kitchen, great sleeping arrangements. We loved the outdoor showers, the huge lawn/field, and the views toward Esperanza and the sea. Vieques was very relaxing, easy to navigate, and fun to visit.
The arrangements were easy, clear and we felt very taken care of. If you enjoy an out-of-the-way place, with opportunities for great beaches (and the bioluminiscent bay, of course) you can’t beat this.

My family of four with two boys stayed for three days in January of 2013. The house is perfect for a family or two couples.

The house is cool, well-lit, with a great kitchen, eating, and sitting areas. The pool was both a relaxing place to be cool and a place for our kids to play gently. Both the owner and the caretaker were gracious, courteous, and made staying at Casa Angular a joy.
From arriving to find a kitchen stocked with several basics, to helping us understand our way around Vieques, the entire experience was great. The house is great, easy to stay in, wonderful to sleep in, perfect to relax in. Vieques is a great place to have a relaxing time. Everything is close. The beaches were great. There are places to grab a pizza and to get wonderful food.

The house is comfortably spacious, especially when the 2 sets of large glass double doors from living-dining area to the deck-pool area are opened — which lets in a pleasant sea breeze. The thoughtful bedroom design — 2 equal-sized “master” suites (one with a king bed and the other with 2 twin beds that can rolled together on a track to form a second king), each with its own double-sink bathroom, outdoor shower and private balcony — makes it ideal for a couple with children, 2 couples, or other configurations of guests.
The view from the pool deck of the sea to the south is indeed spectacular, including a straight shot of the morning sunrise if you get up early. The house’s central location on the island is convenient for exploring the different parts of Vieques, including Isabella II, Esperanza and the many amazing beaches.
The owner and property manager, Colleen, were especially friendly and helpful. After a delightful 5 days, we were dissappointed to leave — but we will be back!

Better than we could have ever imagined!!

Casa Angular side view

We stayed here right after our wedding in Old San Juan as a little honeymoon and everything exceeded all of our expectations!

The owner was great in answering our questions and helping us book this property. The photos do not do this house justice.
The house was huge, extremely clean, and very nicely decorated. We felt right at home here, with all of the essentials we needed provided to us… even many things we didn’t realize we would need! They thought of all of the necessities and more for our stay.
The pool was perfect to just relax in, both during the day and night. The view from the pool and also from inside the house is BREATHTAKING. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we cooked a lot while we stayed at the house.
The location of the house is perfect. It is very secluded and private yet we were only a 15 minute drive from two of the major towns, plus groceries, restaurants, etc… The island of Vieques is, of course, amazing as well. It was so relaxing, as there was no one on the beaches for miles.
The little towns are great to walk around in and everyone is very friendly. We had amazing meals there as well, including a nice dinner at Next Course and a great lunch from Chicken King and Ice Cream, both a 10 minute drive from the house. The Bio Bay tour is also a must do!
We also have to give a special thank you to Colleen, the property manager. She met us at the airport, was very friendly, showed us how to get to the house, and gave us many tips and suggestions. She was only a text message away from any questions we had.
We would definitely recommend this house to everyone- we already recommended it to our families and plan to go back in the future!
